|1. We’re hosting a virtual conference titled “It’s All FIRST To Me: Transitioning from FLL® To FTC®” on Tuesday, Feb. 11, from 1-5 p.m. EST. Sessions include “FTC in a Nutshell,” “Starting an FTC Team,” “Finding Resources,” and “Transitioning Teams Successfully.”
FTC Teams (FLL graduates!) will present the workshops and Ken Johnson and Woodie Flowers will speak. If you’re a new FTC Team, Mentor an FLL Team or know of an FLL Team that would make a good FTC Team, then check out the full schedule and sign up to attend on the Google+ Event Page.
|2. 2014 FIRST Championship Conferences – Call for Proposals
FIRST is seeking presentation proposals for the eleventh annual FIRST Championship Conference. We are looking for 45-minute workshops on topics of interest to FIRST Robotics (FRC), FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) and FIRST LEGO League (FLL) teams, coaches, mentors, students and prospective leaders – including, but not limited to, fundraising, sponsorship, team business planning, team sustainability, strategy, design, and programming. Please note that travel and accommodations will not be provided by FIRST. The deadline to submit is Monday, February 17th. For the submission form, please visit this link.

On January 16, at 7 pm ET, we will hold a Live Google Hangout talking about the best strategies for engaging, mentoring and inspiring more young women to pursue STEM careers.
